The Minister of Arts and Sciences (or MoAS) is responsible for promoting and nurturing the research, study, and practice of period-style arts and sciences. The arts and sciences include creating items (calligraphy, needlepoint, soap-making, leatherworking, armorcrafting, etc.) as well as performance art (singing, dancing, theater, etc.).

Twice a year Oldenfeld hosts local competitions run by the MoAS that are open to anyone who would like to enter.

• Novice Art/Sci is held during the Yule event and is specifically targeted to those with three years or fewer experience in a given category. This is an excellent opportunity to try something new in a warm and friendly environment.
• The Baronial Championship is held during the Anniversary Event. The winner of this competition is the Oldenfeld Baronial Champion until the following year

The MoAS is a warranted officer. This means that they must be approved by a kingdom (state) -level officer of the same type. In this case, the MoAS of Oldenfeld must be approved by the Trimaris Minister of Arts and Sciences.
