As an active rapier fighter, I feel like Oldenfeld has neglected rapier fighting until our rapier community is near death. Official practices are a part of what makes us a community; they are a place and time to socialize, to trade ideas and techniques about fighting and to share our Dream with the public. But the more I go out to the official practice the less I see rapier fighters on the field. Some of the fighters who used to fight rapier do attend official practices, but not to fight rapier. We claim to have the best rapier fighters in Trimaris or even the Knowne World, but that can't be if no one shows up to teach or to practice at official practices. Please everyone think about why official practices are bereft of rapier, and let me know. I want to find out what keeps the rapier fighters away from our community, so we can fix it. Please, think about ways to encourage rapier fighters in Oldenfeld. I want to rally them to an official practice, so they can be a part of our community. I want to have an official practice with a spectacular rapier turn-out, so we can once again say “Oldenfeld is the best.” Please help me by choosing an official practice to come out to fight rapier or just support the flaging rapier community. I promise to be there with all the loaner gear, to teach and talk and share.
