As an active rapier fighter, I feel like Oldenfeld has neglected rapier fighting until our rapier community is near death. Official practices are a part of what makes us a community; they are a place and time to socialize, to trade ideas and techniques about fighting and to share our Dream with the public. But the more I go out to the official practice the less I see rapier fighters on the field. Some of the fighters who used to fight rapier do attend official practices, but not to fight rapier.
